1. Course venue

The opening ceremony, all lectures and contribution sessions will be held in the HKUST Institute for Advanced Study Lecture Theatre, Lo Ka Chung Building. The welcoming reception (January 8, 18:00-20:00) will be held in the lobby of the Lo Ka Chung Building.

For participants interested in the site visit on the afternoon of January 11, please sign up at the reception counter. Transport and sandwich will be provided.


2. Accommodation

Invited overseas participants will be staying at the Conference Lodge of HKUST, which is just next to the Course venue. Please check in at the hotel reception when you arrive. Website: http://www.conferencelodge.hk/en/location/direction.html


3. Directions from the Hong Kong International Airport to HKUST
1. By Airport Bus

You may take the Airport Bus A22 to Lam Tin and then take a taxi to HKUST. The total traveling time is approximately 90 minutes with a total charge of HKD 120.
Or you may take the Airport Bus A29 to Po Lam and then take a taxi to HKUST. The total traveling time is approximately 80 minutes with a total charge of HKD 100.

2. By Mass Transit Railway (MTR) – The metro in Hong Kong

You may take the Mass Transit Railway (MTR) from the Airport by Airport Express, and then interchange at Tsing Yi station, Lai King station and Prince Edward station to reach Choi Hung station along Kwun Tong Line. The Choi Hung MTR station is one of the closest ones to the University, and you can board a bus (number 91 or 91M), minibus (number 11) or taxi to the main entrance of HKUST. The total traveling time is approximately 90 minutes with a total charge of HKD 80. Please refer to the attached location map of HKUST for the route of travel by MTR.

3. By Taxi

Taxis are easily available from the airport. You may expect to pay approximately HKD 300-380 for the journey. Note that only HK dollars will be accepted by your driver. For heading to IAS or the Conference Lodge, you may use the map of driving route to IAS to give the taxi driver directions. Please show the attached card to the taxi driver for the Chinese address of the Conference Lodge.



4. Wifi Connections
Free wifi access is provided at the event venue.

5. Campus Directions

Please refer to the attached HKUST Campus Map and website below for restaurants, banks and ATM, supermarket, and other essential services inside the HKUST campus: https://www.ab.ust.hk/cso/

Please refer to the HKUST location map for transport to the downtown city. The closest town/residential district to HKUST is Tseung Kwan O with a variety of restaurants and shops, and connection to the MTR for traveling to the city center. It can be reached by taking bus at the North Entrance bus stop, or simply by a taxi.
